Director's Welcome

Thank you for your desire to learn more about Family and Children First Council (FCFC)! I'm thrilled you are here. Since becoming Executive Director in this agency, my goal has been to strengthen relationships with community partners and to encourage collaboration between families and support systems.

Our organization is a partnership of local government and community social service agencies who provide services to children and families. The Council is committed to improving child well-being and empowering families. We know that healthy children and strong families create healthy communities. FCFC works to make sure that needed services and supports are available and accessible to families – giving every family the opportunity to meet their full potential and thrive.

Family and Children First Council's mission is to empower families and give them the confidence to use their voices. Parents and caregivers, as your child's first teacher, we hope to give you the needed help to encourage your child to grow. We look forward to walking with you along the way!

Our Commitments and Values

Children have the right to live with their own family.

Children have the right to be nurtured and protected in a stable family environment.

When children are at risk of harm, the community has the responsibility to intervene.

Families are our community’s most important resource and must be respected, valued and encouraged to build upon their strengths.

The racial, cultural and ethnic heritage of children and the neighborhoods where they live are respected and supported as strengths.  Ethnic and cultural child-rearing practices are valued.

Families have the right and responsibility to participate in identifying their concerns, priorities and needed resources.

Families have a right to individualized service provisions that addresses the multiple needs of their children.
